Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has reiterated the Government’s commitment in delivering a new constitution to Kenyans.

Mr. Musyoka said the Grand Coalition Government which is the first in the African continent was united in ensuring that Kenyans get a new constitution as soon as possible.

He said it is only through a new constitution that the problem of negative ethnicity and violence which was witnessed in some parts of the country after the last general election could not recur.

The Vice President made the remarks at his Jogoo House Office, today, when he received a team of senior officials from the Global Peace Festival led by its chairman Dr. Hyun Jin Moon and distinguished national host committee members.

The Global Peace Festival is an innovative model of peace building that enlists volunteers across religious and ethnic boundaries in community service, youth engagement, and cultural festival.

 Its tri-fold platform includes interfaith initiatives, strengthening families as a cornerstone of peace, and forging a global culture of service.

Mr. Musyoka reiterated the need for peaceful co-existence among different communities if social and economic development targets have to be realized in the country.

He said Kenyans are God fearing people who always seek divine guidance in times of difficulties.
